Hi, I'm Mira Voss — a software developer by day and a dungeon architect by night. I've been making small games as a hobby for about six years; Etherwyn is my first attempt at making something I'd actually want other people to play.
I grew up on a diet of Nethack, Rogue Legacy, and The Binding of Isaac. There's something about the combination of spatial reasoning, resource management, and permadeath that I find endlessly compelling. I wanted to add my own voice to that tradition.
This devlog exists partly as documentation for myself (past me leaving notes for future me), partly as accountability (it's harder to abandon a project when you've told the internet about it), and partly because I genuinely wish more solo dev blogs existed when I was starting out. Maybe this helps someone.
I'm based somewhere cold. I drink too much coffee. My backup save for Etherwyn is in three different places because I've lost projects before and I refuse to do it again.
